Avalon House hotel, Castlecomer

The project included the full restoration of this 18th Century Protected Structure on the main street in Castlecomer (Kilkenny) to accommodate hotel bedrooms, bar, restaurant & reception along with the provision of a new three storey extension accommodating a further thirty bedrooms and hotel function room.  Brian Dunlop Architects provided full Architectural and Conservation Architecture services throughout the project which also included the uncovering of a previously unknown seventeenth century fort on site during the construction works.
