Quarry House
Completed in 2021 this passive house is located in a former quarry, now a mature and secluded urban centre site. Constructed with a limited external palette of grey brick, zinc, and glass it is designed to nestle into the sloped site, cantilever over the lower garden area, and wrap around the existing mature trees respecting the mature landscape of the receiving environment. The angular plan form is twisted between ground and first floor to frame views to the garden and to maximise daylight to the primary spaces. Brian Dunlop Architects provided full architectural services to the project with the interiors by Nuns Lane Studio.
