Private house, Kildare

Brian Dunlop Architects have recently completed this bespoke house nestled within a natural recess of the landscape and against a backdrop of mature woodland.  The accommodation is arranged in two brick volumes positioned on the north/south and east/west geometry with the double height volume offering a strong presence to the existing boundary.  The interconnected volumes offer privacy to the family areas of the house in addition to defining the private garden area to the south and west.  The choice of brickwork, along with its texture and colour, has been selected with reference to the depth of texture and colour found in the trees and woodland enclosing the site and the nearby mature oak tree which places it firmly in the landscape.
