Market Square, Portarlington

Delivery of these 20 elderly houses & apartments at Market Square in Portarlington on behalf of Laois Co. Co. included the extensive renovation and refurbishment of a derelict Protected Structure for full residential reuse over its three floors along with delivery of the new build 1 & 2 bedroom houses and the redevelopment of the public-realm to the civic square.  The renovation and restoration works were sensitively undertaken in conjunction with Laois Co. Co.’s Conservation Officer and the new build accommodation designed for user flexibility and low maintenance.  The development brings new life and actively to the centre of the town and ensures the ongoing sustainability of the renovated building.
